Installation Instructions for Windows Vista
For Windows Vista family gadget should be installed auomatically to your sidebar gadgets collection.
You just need to add it to sidebar from the collection.
Installation Instructions for Windows XP
To use sidebar gadgets (as well as Steam gadget) in Windows XP you need first to install Vista Sidebar adopted for Windows XP.
For Windows XP (x86) follow next instructions:
- 1. Make shure to install Microsoft Framework.NET 2.0
- 2. Make shure to install Internet Explorer 7.0
- 3. Download adopted sidebar installer here
- 4. Unpack downloaded archive
- 5. First run Extras.exe to install prerequirements
- 5. Next run "Vista 5744 Sidebar Setup v2.2.exe" to install sidebar
- 6. It will ask for serial number during the installation. You can skip this step or see ReadMe.txt for details
After sidebar installation download XP gadget version (self extracting archive) and unpack it to default location. Usually
C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\ folder.
